We accept searches we feel we can fill. Our goal is to provide our client companies with a selection of qualified candidates from which to choose for each opening. This is often difficult in times of tight supply of experienced and skilled managerial and technical talent. Our search resources include: NPA, LinkedIn, Boolean searches on the Internet and, the most effective, calling our long time friends and clients for referrals.
A successful hire requires a through position description from our client. This often requires expanding on the description written by HR by talking with the department head or in the case of corporate level managers the CEO or board members. These conversations are focused on filling in the soft requirements required to ensure a good fit. It is not enough to be reminded that the candidate must be a ‘quick study’ or a ‘rolled up sleeve’ worker as is often the case in position descriptions. We need to know something about the culture, the backgrounds of others in the group or department and the way the work is conducted; individual contributor, group effort, etc.
When we submit a candidate to a client company we have spent a good deal of time searching and qualifying him or her to ensure the best fit we can find based on the position description we have assembled. We present the candidate to the client representative with a telephone call and a cover letter. The candidate is prepared for the interview with a job description and an itinerary. The candidate has visited the client’s web site and is familiar with the business, its products and markets. The candidate has also been briefed on who will be at the interview, titles, duties, etc. . We provide any required information for follow up interviews and handle the negotiable the terms of employment. We refer both client and candidate to relocation service providers if needed and follow up after the employee start.
